Reel 2026
People respond to human stories, faces, and emotions. No matter how advanced the tools become, that foundation remains unchanged for the time being.
Viewers want to see themselves reflected in the story. Not the idealized or simplified version, but the real version. People feel a connection because they see themselves and their community on screen. They see a piece of the truth.
When that authenticity is tangible and the right emotional chord is struck, trust is created. That trust is ultimately what every brand or company is looking for.
So, we must keep filmmaking human above all else. For me, that means not forgetting why I started filming in the first place: to tell stories that matter, to connect with others, and to capture something valuable. In a world increasingly dominated by technology and polished appearances, that realization is more important than ever.
The tools currently available are fantastic. Of course, you should use them fully to make a production more efficient and, where possible, to reduce the budget. I do that too. But they must serve to achieve a specific goal and should never become a goal in themselves.
That goal: to evoke a specific emotion in the viewer. Because emotion creates impact.
